Bereavement Keepsake Boxes

When parents experience the loss of a baby during pregnancy or birth, they often leave the hospital with empty arms. No car seat check. No bundle of blankets. No baby to carry home.

What they do leave with is a lifetime of love, memories, and grief.

Our bereavement keepsake boxes are created so that no family leaves the hospital empty handed. These boxes are filled with tangible reminders of a baby’s life, moments that mattered, and memories that parents can carry with them long after they walk out of the hospital doors.

Each keepsake box is thoughtfully curated to honor a baby and support parents in the earliest, most fragile moments of grief. Inside, families receive:

  • A handmade blanket

  • A swaddle

  • A hat or bow, depending on gender

  • The book Guess How Much I Love You, so parents can read to their baby

  • Hand and foot prints

  • Hand and foot molds

  • Matching mommy and me bracelets

  • A certificate of life, honoring babies who do not receive a birth certificate

  • A small stuffed animal

  • Grief and support resources

These items are not just objects. They are memories.

They are the blanket their baby was wrapped in.
The bow or hat their baby wore.
The book they read aloud, even if only once.
The tiny prints that prove their baby was here.

For many parents, these items become sacred. They are held, displayed, revisited, and woven into how they remember and honor their child.

When we lost Heidi, the keepsake box we received became something we still cherish deeply. The matching bracelets we were given in the hospital had a small butterfly on them. That butterfly now lives on Quinn’s skin as a tattoo, a permanent symbol of our daughter. The bow Heidi wore in the hospital has become a symbol I immediately associate with her. These pieces of her life are not tucked away or forgotten. They are part of how we carry her with us.

This is why these boxes matter.

They give parents something to hold onto when everything else feels taken away. They create space for memory making in moments that are otherwise filled with shock and sorrow. They lay the foundation for lifelong healing and remembrance.

Your donation helps place these keepsake boxes directly into hospitals so that grieving families receive them when they need them most. It ensures that parents leave with memories, not just loss.

By funding a bereavement keepsake box, you are helping a family carry their baby home in the only way they can.
