Katie Donnelly, a dear friend of Maetiques and an incredibly talented photographer, recently experienced the devastating loss of her daughter, Rose. In her honor, we wanted to create something meaningful that carries Rose’s memory forward while helping other families facing the unimaginable loss of a baby.

Rose’s mom, photographer, and the heart behind this special gift.
Katie is the mother of sweet Rose and the photographer behind Katie Donnelly Photography. In honoring her daughter, she is generously offering one family the opportunity to be photographed in Paris while helping raise funds to support families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.
Based in Paris since 2013, Katie photographs clients in both English and French, creating an experience with no language barrier. Her work blends candid lifestyle photography with timeless fine art imagery and was recognized as Best Portrait Photographer in Paris in the 2017 Expatriates Magazine Best of Paris Awards.
Through this fundraiser, Katie is using her gift as a photographer to carry Rose’s memory forward in a beautiful and meaningful way.
Where Your Donation Goes
Heidi Saint James was founded in memory of Heidi Michelle Strahl, who died during childbirth on May 4, 2024.
What began as one family’s desire to honor Heidi has grown into a mission to change how baby loss is cared for. Through the generosity of our community, Heidi Saint James provides grieving families with meaningful keepsakes and bereavement resources while helping hospitals better care for families experiencing loss.
Funds raised through this fundraiser will help us continue this work, including placing cooling devices in hospitals. These devices give families something incredibly precious after the death of their baby: more time.
More time to hold them.
More time to take photographs.
More time to memorize their tiny features.
More time to say goodbye.
We cannot take away the heartbreak of losing a child. But together, we can help make sure families are surrounded with compassionate care and given the opportunity to create memories with their baby that they can carry for a lifetime.
Every donation helps us continue this mission in Heidi’s memory, in Rose’s honor, and for every baby who is deeply loved and forever missed.
