What is the Wave of Light?
For many families, one of the most special moments of the year happens in the quiet glow of a single candle.
Each year on October 15, families around the world participate in the International Wave of Light, a global remembrance held in honor of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. At 7:00 PM in every time zone, candles are lit in memory of babies and children who are deeply loved and deeply missed. As darkness falls across the world, one light after another begins to shine, creating a continuous wave of remembrance that circles the globe for 24 hours.
It is a beautiful reminder that although our children are no longer in our arms, they are never forgotten. Their names are spoken. Their lives are honored. Their love continues to illuminate the hearts of those who carry them every day.
Our hope is that the candle you create during Light Their Legacy becomes more than a keepsake. We hope it becomes part of your family's tradition and a light you return to each year, each birthday, each difficult day, or whenever you simply want to feel close to your child.
