Light Their Legacy
In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Heidi Saint James brought together approximately 10 mothers for a special evening at The Rustic Wick Boutique in Slidell, Louisiana.
Light Their Legacy was created as a space for parents to come together, honor their babies, and create meaningful keepsakes to remember them by.
Every Detail Told a Story
From the moment each mother arrived, she was reminded that her baby was known and remembered.
Each place setting was personalized with the words "[Baby's Name]'s Mom" and decorated with special items that reminded her of her baby.
From sunflowers and teddy bears to beautiful roses, every detail was thoughtfully chosen with each baby in mind.
A Candle for Every Baby
Each mother poured her own candle and selected a scent that felt special to her.
The candle vessels had been hand-painted before the event, featuring each baby's name and artwork inspired by the things that reminded their mother of them.
These candles were created to be lit on October 15 for the International Wave of Light, when families around the world light candles at 7 PM in remembrance of babies gone too soon.
Each candle represented a precious life and the love that continues to shine.
Every White Pumpkin Tells a Story
While our candles cured, we decorated white pumpkins with beautiful pressed flowers.
White pumpkins have become a meaningful symbol of babies in Heaven during the fall season. Each mother created a pumpkin that was uniquely hers, choosing flowers that reminded her of her baby.
Another special keepsake to carry home in memory of a little life so deeply loved.
Remembering Together
Throughout the evening, mothers shared stories of their babies and spent time with others who understand the love and grief that come with losing a child.
Light Their Legacy was more than an evening of creating keepsakes. It was a reminder that these mothers will always be their babies' moms, and their babies will always deserve to be remembered.

To every parent who joined us, thank you for sharing your precious baby with us. It is an honor to remember them alongside you and to meet who else our baby is playing with in Heaven.
Though our sweet baby's life may have been brief, their love and legacy will last forever.
